WoW addons are essincial to playing the game effective. I personally applaud those who make it 1-80 with out any addons at all. You are a true god in my eyes, because I couldnt picture the game without addons. I would probably quit if they ended up banning them … but before I get to side tracked I wanted to let you know that I did all the work for you. Your survival in Northrend is dependant on the following 10 addons. Get ready!
10. Bartender4 – This helps get your skills in order so all of them can be used at your fingertips. Unlike the old action bar, which has limited spaces, Bartender4 puts all of the spells you want on the screen for you. No more fumbling through your spell book for spells you hardly use. This addon isnt required, but it does make life easier.
9. Titan Panel – This addon provides you with valuable information that WoW can’t. Things like total gold on character and account, gold per hour, experience, experience till level, time to level, the list goes on. Plus you can customize the themes and plugins for Titan Panel. Got to love it, not required, but recommended.
8. RatingBuster – Ever get new gear, but you were not sure if it was an upgrade or not? Well thats a problem of the past. What RatingBuster does is it takes the stats of the item and converts them to english for you, aka understandable, and it will compare the item to one that you are currently wearing. No more worries about needing or greeding when you know what your upgrades are. This is defiantly a required addon.
7. Omen Threat Meter – There seems to be a problem between tanks and dps in WoLK. Some, but not all, tanks can’t hold aggro because of the fast burst damage of dps. Which always results in a wipe and who gets the blame? Tanks and healers… no wonder its always so hard to find them for instances and raids. Either way to understand how threat works and see full screen warnings when threat might be taken away or gained this is the mod for you. If you are going to be doing any type of raiding this is required for most guilds.
6. Deadly Boss Mods – Every single experienced, especially noob players have to get this addon. This addon gives a breakdown, timer, raid warnings on boss fights. This completely makes raiding idiot proof… for the most part. There are still some shining seeds that like to bud their ugly heads and prove that last quote wrong… Anywho this is required for PvE don’t be a noob and say you don’t know this boss, and not required for PvP.
5. Recount – Simply put its the best damage meter out there. It breaks down everything that you and your group puts out into a chart. Showing what skills are putting out the most damage or heals. Any person who hits 80 will need this addon no doubt. In order to improve your macros and rotations you have to be able to monitor them, and Recount can do this real time! Genius my friend, genius. Required addon for sure.
4. Atlasloot Enhanced – If you want to progress through WoW your gonna need to get gear, but what instance has your gear. M APPLE KEY, or ALT TAB… thottbot… read read read read read… go back to game. Thats a lot to find out about some gear. And that is why this addon exist, it displays ingame gear, drops, locations, and percentages. Required none the less for WoW.
3. Gatherer – My personal most hatted professions used to be the gatherer professions. Hunting down nodes while I quested or even at 60,70,80 was really really annoying. What gatherer does is tracks where the nodes you, or anyone thats incontact with you are. It will record where they are how often they are there and what they have. No more aimless running around after you build this database. Yesssss. Its almost like I get free gold for running in circles all day now. If you have a gatherer profession this is a must.
2. Auctioneer – Did you know that the Auction House is just like real world trade? Lets take for example the past decade… gas prices hit an all time high, yet its made from the waste of oil. Seeing an opportunity prices were spiked and profits were collected. Supply and demand. Now lets say there happens to be Frostweave cloth on AH for cheap, buy it out, sell it inflated make a profit. Of course the process isn’t that simple, but an example. This is a required addon for WoLK.
