Utah State Fair

by Ian Kleine on March 24, 2009

In the state of Utah happens an annual state fair which is said to be the largest since ever. The Utah State Fair, held on the month of September, showcases everything the state has to offer! The Utah State Fair goes out of its way to be extraordinarily fabulous. It is a mixture, a combination, of fun, music, shows, rides, animals, exhibits, booths and rodeos; probably the biggest anywhere else. The whole event is spread out in eleven days from September 10 to 20 this year 2009.

There are a lot of things happening around the event area for all ages, all generations. Some of these are a Little Hands On Farm, which lets kids (and adults) know how does the process of transferring produce from farm to grocery happen. The Navy Display, an exhibit to be located off the West of the Grand Building. The well-known Odor-Eater’s Rotten Sneakers contest where residents from the whole state converge their stinkiest, nastiest sneakers to vie for the prize.

The Utah Folk Masters, who can expertly display traditional Utah Art. The Gold Wing Riders Motorcycle Display, showcasing their motor rides. They also have all-you-can-eat ice cream in the Dairy Farmers of Utah Ice Cream Festival, three dollars for the big ones and two dollars for kids 12 and under.

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is also hosting the Utah’s Funniest Kid event, which urges local kids to try and showcase their talents to become future circus celebrities. The State Fair will host both the try-out and the finals this 2009.

There is also the Senior Wii Bowling Tournament, hosted by the Sentinel Security Life Insurance Company, which is bowling for the elderly. The Draft Horse Pull which is hosted in the Arena. Muscles, muscles and more muscles!
