Excellent Advice For Beautiful Skin Everyday

Dry skin cannot be ignored. Dry skin leads to cracking of the upper layer of skin and gives it a real bad appearance.

Climate conditions, hormonal changes and harsh exfoliation are all causes that have proven to be related to dry skin. In some cases, dry skin can be caused by other skin related problems that you may be experiencing. However, fear not, as there are simple solutions to solve your dry skin problem.

Dry skin care starts with moisturizers, the most effective remedy for dry skin. Generally moisturizers are classified under 2 categories based on the way they provide dry skin care.

The first category includes moisturizers that provide dry skin care just by preserving the moisture within the skin, such as Vaseline. These moisturizers are relatively inexpensive and are readily available, even at grocery shops.

Secondary skin moisturizers are effective in absorbing moisture from the climate and facilitating it to the skin. If you reside in an area known for humid conditions, this type of moisturizer is highly recommended.

The moisturizers that provide dry skin care in this way are also called humectants. For proper dry skin care, you must use a non-greasy type of moisturizer, as far as possible. Humectants fall in this category. The ingredients of humectants include propylene glycol, urea, glycerin, hyaluronic acid etc.

Extra care and consideration should be had when using moisturizers to combat dry skin. The basic procedure to follow is the completely clean the surface of your skin before spreading the moisturizing product on the affected area.

Applying moisturizer to your skin while it is still damp will increase the effectiveness of your dry skin product. When it comes to moisturizing your arms, face and neck, be sure to avoid heavy soap products, as they tend to accelerate the process of drying out your skin. Light exfoliation can be beneficial for those with dry skin as it removes the coarse, dead skin cells that add to over all dryness.
