Farms are not the backward hillbillies you may imagine. In Nebraska, agriculture is a primary source of livelihood and income for many of the residents, who laugh a bit at the forward thinking of many of the cities. I have lived on a farm most of my life, and I have found ways to connect to the world at large via the Internet.
The Information Superhighway is a really amazing tool that makes our lives that much easier. I have found that the best way to hunt for craft fairs and festivals here in Nebraska is through the Internet; forget leafing through announcements tacked up on bulletin boards. And while there are a few sites out there that are defunct and never updated, there are a lot more sites there that are up to date.
And there you go. It’s a good idea to contact the event organizers via the contact information you find online. It’s as simple as adding them up via an Instant Messaging program, and work out an agreement regarding booths and prices. Or you could drop them an e-mail, asking them any questions or concerns you may have about the event. The Internet gives you more options than calling them up via a landline phone or going to offices. It’s a huge convenience, indeed.
Because I save a lot of time in using the Internet, I have more time to do the things I like doing the most. Things that give me great pleasure. For example, I love crafting carved pieces of wood. Obviously, this hobby does not come with time limitations. Fact is, I like to take time when I do things; make sure that everything is perfect or almost perfect. And making sure that small slices of my carving knives do not take off more than they should.
Be alert to how important it is to be open to technological innovations. Of course, it’s not advisable to purchase all things in this digital age. There are many things that have been made for the sake of being made. If it helps you do things at a faster rate, then it might probably be worth it.
