I purchased a Compaq desktop computer five years ago. I bought the computer so that I could perform a number of functions. I needed a computer so that I could download and play music. I also needed a place to store all of my music files. In addition to entertainment purposes, I use my computer on a daily basis for business. I keep track of all of my business associates and I do all of my invoices on my personal computer. Finally, I use the computer to go on the internet all of the time so I need it to be reliable and fast.
Although my computer has run smoothly for the most part, I have had a few small problems occur that prompted me to have to contact Compaq support. The first time I had to call the support desk was when I was having a problem installing the new printer that I had bought. I had followed the step by step printer instructions, but my computer kept reading an error message saying that it was not recognizing a printer.
The Compaq support desk was happy to help me with my problem. The operator walked me through the set-up process step by step and did not hang up the phone until I had successfully printed something.
About a year later I noticed that my computer began to run sluggishly. Every time that I loaded a program it seemed to take twice the amount of time that it had taken before. I was worried that there was something seriously wrong with my computer and that the entire system might crash.
I contacted Compaq support once again to assist me with this problem. I explained the problem and the operator informed me that there were a number of things that could be causing my computer to run slowly, but she suspected that my computer might be running out of Compaq RAM, which is the random access memory within the computer.
The support team operator told me how to look up the memory space on my computer and to see how many MBs I had left. I had almost used up all of the memory that my computer had initially come with.
The operator recommended that I upgrade my memory by buying Compaq RAM and installing it into my computer. These upgrades would return my computer to its regular performance and provide me with many more years’ worth of memory space for all of my songs and other files.
The Compaq RAM arrived with detailed instructions and I was able to install it into my computer within ten minutes.
