Rugs for the Bathroom
Rugs which are made specifically for use in the bathroom are normally very plain, these are normally made from cotton or chenille. These types of bathroom rugs are much more durable and won’t be damaged as easily by water. You should be able to find these rugs in a number of different sizes and designs which will suit any bathroom.
The most common form of bathroom rug is a simple cotton one which is quite thin and can be cut to fit in any sized bathrooms. Cotton is preferable because it is a very durable and long lasting material. These rugs can get damaged over time if they are not dried out properly when they get wet.
Chenille rugs are normally made from polypropylene, Rayon or Acrylic materials. These are manmade rugs and are highly durable. A fairly new option for bathroom rugs are ones made out of bamboo, these have a great deal of benefits, however they can be quite rough on your feet.
There are many other types of rugs which although they aren’t specifically designed to be bathroom rugs could be well suited there. You just need to remember to keep them dry if they get wet otherwise they can become damaged. Many of these rugs are inexpensive so you could consider throwing them away when they become damaged. You could buy kelim rugs from China, Persia or India. These dry very quickly and do not get much mould on them.
Cleaning
Many bathroom rugs are very easy to wash because they were designed to get wet. These can normally be washed in your washing machine, however it’s a good idea to read the washing instructions on the label before you try to. If you have a stain then you can normally use stain removers to get rid of the stain. In other words it can be washed just like clothing, however it should not be washed with your clothing. You must make sure that the rugs are ringed thoroughly. If you want to tumble dry your rugs make sure that this is allowed.
